“…Thus declares Jehovah, who stretches forth the heavens and lays the foundations of the earth and forms the spirit of man within him,”
Zechariah 12:1
Have you ever stopped to consider, What’s the meaning of it all? What’s the meaning of my human life? The book of Ecclesiastes reveals that God has planted eternity into the hearts of men. The Amplified version describes this as , “a sense of divine purpose”, and “a mysterious longing which nothing under the sun can satisfy, except God”.
In all of God’s creation, only man is created in such a way that he would long for meaning and purpose. This is because only man is created with a spirit. First Thessalonians clearly speaks of the three parts of man – we are created with a body, a soul, AND a spirit!
God is One and also Three, He is triune. He created man in His own image, having three parts, with the purpose of coming into us to become our life and content. Our human spirit is created to contain God, who is The Spirit.

Before God could accomplish His purpose to get into man, man sinned and became fallen; as a result our human spirit became deadened. However, in order to accomplish His original purpose, God became a man, the Man called Jesus Christ. The Lord Jesus died on the cross to redeem man, take away our sin, and reconcile us to God. On the third day the Lord Jesus resurrected from the dead and in His resurrection, the Lord became the Life-giving Spirit.

Nothing under the sun can satisfy our deep sense of longing except God Himself. To be saved is to receive God into your spirit. This is to be regenerated.
If you have not yet received God into your spirit, please pray this simple prayer,
Lord Jesus, I am a sinner.
I need You.
Thank You for dying for me.
Lord Jesus, forgive me.
Cleanse me from all my sins.
I believe You rose from the dead.
I receive You right now as my Savior and life.
Come into me! Fill me with Your life!
Lord Jesus, I give myself to You for Your purpose.
He has made everything beautiful in its own time; also He has put eternity in their heart, yet so that man does not find out what God has done from the beginning to the end.
Eccl 3:11
And God said, Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them have dominion…
Gen 1:26
And the God of peace Himself sanctify you wholly, and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Thes 5:23
So also it is written, “The first man, Adam, became a living soul”; the last Adam became a life-giving Spirit.
1 Cor 15:45
And when He had said this, He breathed into them and said to them, Receive the Holy Spirit.
